Q: Is the Nissan Skyline street legal in Florida? or in any states in America?
If anyone is looking to purchase any model skyline email me! Bringing in 1 skyline doesnt make sense, so if i can help some other people out, i can bring in more than one at a time. Pure japanese street racing cars for people like me to enjoy!
A: Info from other US owners whom own Street legal Skylines R32 upwards and info found myself.
What needs changing depends where you live,as some states require some mods whilst others you wont really need any whilst others will not let you use your car.
Common changes are the emissions being altered,R32 requires a strong bar being added behind the back seat as the petrol tank is really close. Some states require the steering wheel to be on the left but not every state.
This is something you need to chase up with a department of transport where you live or the cop shop.

Q: How much does a Nissan Skyline cost in the United States?
There are Skylines gallore over here in Japan that run between 1K-10K - used. I'm wondering if it'd be worth it to ship one over to the United States and sell it. I'm looking at a '96 Skyline GTS25t right now. They're all right-side driving.
A: its the gt-r's that really bring in the money. an r34 gt-r can sell for 50k if it is in good condition. if it carries a us title you may even be able to get 75k. for an r33 30-45k, r32, about 25k. some of the 80's gt-r's sell for 15-20k but those carry so little reputation. not many people even know about them. if you did want to make money, you would have to ship more than one. you may make a little profit on one but its not really worth the trouble, maybe 3+ could land you 50-75k in profits. remember the shipping is easy. getting them titled can cost as much as 20k. (i live in the middle east where there are also loads of skylines, some lhd. ive actually thought alot about this too)
Q: I have a 1997 Nissan Skyline GTS-25; how much is it worth in the states?
I am in Japan right now, and I bought a 1997 Nissan Skyline GTS-25. I am wondering about how much I could get for it in the states, seeing as how I will be going back in about 3 years. Specs:
PS, PB, AC, CD, Nav, 6 Cyl, 249 Horse, Black, Auto, 4 Door.
I looked for sites to try and find this out for myself, but am unsuccessful. Just a round-about figure would be worlds of help...
Thanks!
A: i have seen advertisements in magazines and such for skylines starting at 28k. i dont know how much mods have been done to make them leagal here or even how old they are. im guessing they are for the 2dr models though. ive heard that to make german cars leagal here, it costs about $2k. im guessing that its emmition type modifications but im not sure, maybe also safety standards.
Q: how big of a deal is it to drive an unregister nissan skyline in california?
the reason im asking is beacuse im thinking of buying a skyline but the DOT importable car list says only skylines made during the years of 96-98?
A: I don't really see what the DOT importable car list says, if your question is regarding the legality of driving an unregistered car in California.
I don't think that this is right, moral, ethical or professional, but AFAIK, anyone caught driving any motor vehicle anywhere in the US that is not "street legal" - meaning that it's properly licensed, registered, insured, all lights, etc... are working properly and the driver has a valid license to drive, is legally subject to having the cop search their car without first getting consent.
There is no valid reason, IMO for most of these searches that go on on a daily basis. But they are doing it more and more. As a matter of fact, anymore, most of the time a person gets pulled over for even the slightest reason, and the driver and the vehicle BOTH are 100% street legal, the cop will still try to intimidate the driver into waiving their constitutional right to not consent to a search if the cop doesn't have "probable cause". Such as the cop sees a weapon(s) or drugs or anything illegal that is in plain sight. But if there is nothing that could cause any harm to the cop in sight, and there is nothing that the cop can see from where he's standing which should be OUTSIDE of the vehicle, then the driver has every right to NOT consent to any search. It makes no difference WHAT type of vehicle it is, or when it was made and/or imoprted.
The most important thing is that every driver should be aware of thier constitutional rights and not be bullied into waiving them by any cop. But it's also important and responsible for any driver to not be in that position to begin with. If you can't afford to register your car and don't have anyone who is willing to help you out financially with the costs of owning a vehicle of any make, model or year, then it is better and safer for you to not drive at all unless you are in a borrowed or rented vehicle that IS fully street legal.
However, you could take your chances, drive safely, don't attract any unneccessary attention and you could feasibly get by for some lenght of time with out getting caught. Until you get caught, there is no big deal at all. But don't expect your luck to hold out indefintely.
How big of a deal it would to be caught also would depend largely on whether you have anything illegal in the car at the time you're caught, as you would be subject to a search without having to consent. Then, not only would you be in trouble for driving an unregistered vehicle (which although I grew up in California myself - it was many years ago now , and I have not driven in 13 years now and don't live threre anymore. So, I don't know if everything else about you and the contents of your unregistered vehicle are squeaky clean, if now a days in California it might just be a Warning, or a Ticket, or if they may take you to jail. I think the laws on that probably vary somewhat from state to state.
If you're seriously considering getting a car and not registering it, but driving it anyway, it might do you well to look at a pamphlet or two from your local DMV regarding laws in your area and the maximum punishment can be should you get caught.
Maybe the link I've put below might be of further help to you.
Best of luck to you.
Q: How to import a nissan skyline GTR from japan to US?
How much it would be?,how to do it? PS.I know it is possible becase here in Puerto Rico there are 2 skyline gtr r34...just help me how to do it please...
how to do it?,how much money I need? I love to have the R32 GTR its my favorite.
A: It would be worth finding out what mods are needed to the car where you live first as each country requires different mods to be done to many cars to meet there laws,my Skyline in the UK has had a few mods to meet or regs and its the same Worldwide.
This is a good idea to do first as you wouldn't want to get a car and drive it around after paying good money and having the cops take it of you.
This is the the est thing to do first as it will give you an idea of budget.
The GTR 34 is a classic car Worldwide and the price is going to be high so with shipping cost and any mods it may be worth looking also at the GTT version which is the single turbo version but still can be modded to scary bhp figures but is a cheaper car to buy..
Then its a matter of finding an import company IE
http://speedierimports.com/
Its ideal to use companies that import and export due to them sourcing ones that meet your spec and watch over the import without any hassle to you and its safer with your money..
.US wise the R33 Spec 2 is a safer option to import due to it being allowed with the Motorex data, any skyline pre the law change are allowed but after the change only these models are allowed.
Q: who knows how much the new 2009 nissan skyline GT-R is going to cost im thinking about buying one?
i found the new nissan skyline not the ugly concept but the actual built 2009 nissan skyline it looks BAD ASS i would like to know how much (if anone knows) it is going to be??????
A: I was just at the Nissan dealership yesterday talking to them about this car. I'm thinking of trading my 350Z in for one when thy start importing them in May. He gave me a base price of $68,584.
Q: What place can you import a Nissan Skyline?
I live in the United States and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about importing this car. Or if you can build a skyline with U.S. standards.
A: Try on
http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/index.php
There are plenty of US owners on there from different states, its seems some states are more relaxed than others so it will be cheaper to modify maybe.
Also look at the GTS GTT models against the GTR as at least you are starting off cheaper.
http://www.carad.com/showroom/showroom.cfm?status=-1&user_number=9684499&sc=0&mode=1&tad=1&key_word=skyline&search=Search
some for sale on there in the US if there any good for you.
Your best joining the forum and chatting to US owners on there for tips and advice.
Good luck with your find there a great car and great fun and worth the money, just for the experience of sitting in it everyday and having that huge smile everytime. The worst thing is leaving it and having to check on it all the time.

Q: will nissan skyline motor fit into any other nissan model ?
i want to build a fast race car, my friends think i should go the honda path, but i love nissan's and im thinking of swapping a nissan skyline motor into another kind of nissan model shell, so i want to know the other nissan models that will be compactible with the skyline motor and transmission.
A: Other Engines mentioned are great engines and have great bhp figures the reason for the RB engines being used WorldWide by tuners etc is due to the BHP figures which can be gained very easily against the other engines ,
which can reach those figures but at slower gains and more internal work and cost. Those engines are bullet proof hence many 350z,supra owners having this conversion.
Also if you ever bought a 280bhp RB26 engine then take it back those figures where to keep the regulators happy and owners across the globe have had stock bhp figures of around 330bhp which leads to the RB26 engine running at around 500bhp with stock internals as this is the actual running power of those engines without changing internals parts to reach over 1000bhp.So really you are getting a 500bhp bullet proof engine.hence them being so popular.
Conversions i have seen in other Nissan's are the silvia range the 180/240sx range 300zx loads of 350z's and a maxima A32 with an R32 RB engine fitted.
Q: Why not to buy a 7 year old Nissan Skyline in Australia?
I heard from some of my friend to not to buy a used skyline as they are not in good shape and part could be really expensive. is this true?
i see many kid roaming around in the city with big spoiler and coloured bonnets.
A: I don't live is Australia,but i have got and had two Skylines an R32 and a R33 Spec 2.
As cars go they are like any car you buy if looked after there fine but raced badly etc there not,but this is the same with any car you buy even a 1000cc.
Yes parts are not the cheapest, but no more than my Maxima and other Japanese cars i have owned. And again the difference is with most Japanese cars is the parts last alot longer .
With Nissan still having parts on shelf and many breaker yards worldwide selling Skyline parts prices can vary and cheaper parts can be picked up.
To buy a good Skyline there is a buyers guide on http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69362 free forum which tells you what to look out for.but most owners even more so club ones dont buy these cars to break they buy them and look after them and at least with being in clubs you can trace the history of the car and owners dont usually sell a bad car on the club and risk trouble .
Another option is find a good importer as this will give you the chance to buy a stock one as as Japan owners only run there cars mainly for 4 years the milegae and condition is usually great.I had a 1992 R32 it had 40,000 miles on the clock and was like new inside outside and the engine shone.
My R33 iam the second owner after import and again the condition is like new.inside and out and had 45,000 miles on the clock.
Great cars but as said as with any car keep away from the modders whom have done a bad job, havent researched and spoilt a great car with looked after and serviced a bullet proof engine.
Q: Wheres a site I can compare a nissan skyline GTR ,GTT R34, R34 coupe?
So wheres a site I can compare these 3 cars: nissan skyline GTR, nissan skyline GT-T R34, and nissan skyline R34 coupe. i want to see wich one wont put a whole in my pocket but still give me good milage so could you give the link thanks.
A: http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/index.php
The best place to ask free forum with owners from all over the world and each owning different models.
If you want to know which one is best ask on there really or there is a search button to look up past post.
models are the GT GTT GTR and other LE.
At least from the forum you will get advice on cost of parts and mpg and also mpg cost of mods and repair cost etc etc.
Q: what are the red and white lights on the bumper of the nissan skyline r34 used for?
there are a red and white light on the bumper of the skyline r34 near the bumper and i've been wondering what they are there for and why they're different colors
A: On my old r32 the white lights where reverse whilst the red was for fog although fitted after left Japan as there not stock.
On my new R33 the white lights below the round lights are indicators with reverse lights and a fog light fitted below the bumper.
So iam guessing it will be the same on all of them.
