Q: What should I expect to pay for parts and labor on replacing a starter on a 1988 Nissan Pulsar NX SE?
The quote was for $270 for the starter and $300+ for the labor. Is that reasonable?
A: The starter price is about normal for a shop with a markup. That labor rate however is out of this world high. Even on harder cars, any decent mechanic can replace a starter in under an hour. What's the going hourerly rate in your area? For higher end shops here it's about $80 an hour. That equals to no more than $80 labor.
Q: how to remove the cylinder head from a nissan pulsar gtir?
already removed top mounted intercooler, rocker cover, cam pulleys and cams.But now im lost?? have undone the inlet manifold but not sure if i remove the hole thing but cant seem to move it from where it is.Also the exhaust manifold, there are two bolts i just cant get to! can anyone help
A: Buy a shop manual before you screw it all up.

A: It may not be possible, -- break down and buy yourself a Haynes auto repair manual! ... It will almost take a whole "rheem" of paper to print a manual anyway, - and it would all be "loose leaf", and hard to keep together. You can buy a manual for less than $20 in most auto supply stores! Chilton also makes one, (but I don't like their manuals quite as well as Haynes). If you get the manual, I guarantee you will use it a lot, -- if you keep the car very long!
Q: 89 nissan pulsar with a real noisy 5 spd. manual transmission, what years interchange with this trans?
I bought a real nice clean 89 pulsar, the only thing is it has a 5 speed manual trans. that screams like a violated farm animal.. what other makes and years interchange with this car? would prefer a used unit from a good car, if possible ... it has a 1.6 sohc engine.
A: ANY 5 speed that is connected to a 1.6 liter nissan front wheel drive. Sentra is you only other choice besides finding a Pulsar wrecked. Sounds as if the trans is to far gone to just replace all the shaft bearings. Good Luck.
Q: What else could i do to my 99' Nissan Pulsar SSS?!?
Well i have a 99 model Nissan Pulsar SSS, ive already lowered it and tinted the windows, got a sunroof and dvd player installed into it, i dont have much money and dont exactly wanna go crazy on it but what else could i do to it to make it look hott? this is wat it looks like now..

A: Try this. If the outside body of your car is still in good shape, if you want a cool looking car and to do it cheap. Try painting the outside with some cool geo's or scenes. You could do this by hand, spray can or air brush. Paint something that has real meaning to you and do the best you can. Your paint job will reflect you, that's the best cool you can get. Q: I have a problem with my front strut on my Australian 1988 Nissan Pulsar.?
I am almost certain that my front strut is loose but i checked under the hood and the bolts are fine, nice and tight. But how do i get to the lower ones? do i have to take off the wheel?
and how do i get to those things? is there a site which i can check that has pictures and stuff?

Q: I have a Nissan pulsar 2000 model automatic with a new muffler and tail pipe but they vibrate, is this normal?
recently got the muffler put on with a large tail pipe, from inside the car it sounds great and normal and you cant notice anything but if u are driving behind or next to it listening to it it makes a vibrating sound. is this normal for an automatic 1.6 litre with a muffler? or is something wrong? in any case id like to know how to eliminate the vibration sound.
A: 1. check the pipe hanger that were used there should be rubber isolator used to stop the pipe vibrating hence the sound will stop. check and insure all joint are welded in [no lose pipes joints tacky and unsafe] if you still don't like the sound put a resonator on the end it looks good and will sound out standing [gets rid of the tinie sound]
Q: 1991 Nissan Pulsar dashboard light?
I own a 1991 Nissan Pulsar and a dashboard light has come on and I have no idea what its for.
Its on the bottom right hand side of the dash and its an exclamation mark in a circle (sort of). Ive checked all the oils and they're fine.
The car seems to be running fine. Has anyone any idea what this light is for???

Q: My nissan pulsar makes a grinding noise when i turn left?
Well basically I have noticed only when I am turning left and moving a grounding noise seems to be coming from my rear right wheel (drivers side).
My car is a front wheel drive.
any ideas what this could be?

A: It sounds like more than likely to be a CV joint, pretty big job to fix it, could also be wheel bearing. but the grinding noise you describe sounds very much like a CV JOINT to me, take it to a shocker place. they will stick it up on a hoist and check it out for you. Love to know the out come, good luck with it all but get it checked, it can be a danger.

A: Great Car in Heaven! It's alive! Until you want to take it out on the road we won't know how many miles a gallon it will get. Then run a compression test every cyl needs to be over 143 psi and none vary more than 14 or 15 psi we like to see 150 to 160 psi. Possibly the O2 sensor is not working fuel injector O ring leaking? New oil clean air filter new spark plugs wires distributor cap. Fresh oil in the transmission adjust the clutch cable until it has slack and approx 1 " free travel at the clutch pedal. There was a reason it was parked? Just an electric fuel pump? 1.6 liter engine was just a little faster than snails and ants with the A/C turned on watch out for old people in golf carts they will out accelerate you at the retirement village. Just Kidding Pulsars are rare now have fun and if any one offers you money for it take it.
Q: i want a catback exhaust for my nissan pulsar n13 is it worth it?&where can u get nice bodykits for em?
i really love my n13 its so hot.i want to get it lowered, body colour the gay bumpers, or get a kit fat rims and catback exhaust, seens as i need a new muffler and not much funds atm should i get catback now or wait till later.will it look and sound good?i know they do but will it sound good on my n13?
A: save the money up first then get it. Yes it is worth it you will get more horse power from the car.Check on the net or even ebay might have a body kit.

A: Often a bouncy, inaccurate speedo is the result of years of inattention to its need for periodic lubrication.
Unscrew the cable from the tranny and temporairly re-route it so you can put some graphite lube down its length.
Check the small plastic gear on the end for proper alignment when re-installing the speedo cable end.

A: Working in an autoparts store I sell alot of brakes. The 84 Pulsar has front disk brakes that take disk pads, and the rear are drum brakes that take brake shoes.
