Q: how can I put subs in a mazda 5 using the factory radio?
A: you will need a "line output converter" to give your radio a set of RCA outputs, you can get them for about $20 from places like best buy and/or radio shack, here's one http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?search=line+output&i=142SLC4
Connect the speaker leads from your car stereo to the it and it reduces the incoming speaker-level signals so that outgoing signals are compatible with the preamp inputs on your amplifier. You will then need to use two RCA patch cords (not included) to make the connections to your amp.
Q: What's the difference between Mazda 3 4 Speed and 5 Speed Automatic?
I know the obvious difference is one more gear, but why? If they wanted it to be a 4 speed they wouldn't give you an option. This is just very strange to me. When I buy cars it's manual or auto, not manual, and two kinds of auto. Help me out!
A: The 5-speed automatic costs $3,500 more than the 4-speed. In my opinion, that's just not worth it. The 4-speed is sufficient.
I believe it's supposed to be an improvement over the 4-speed because it feels more like a typical 5-speed manual transmission and allows the car to run at lower RPMs at high speeds. I don't think you'd actually see much improvement in gas mileage over the cheaper automatic transmission, because how often do you drive at excessively high speeds anyways? Not often in most of the US.
Q: How do you reset the clock on a Mazda Protege 5 (normal stock radio)?
A: I had a Protege5, and if I remember correctly, you press and hold the clock button in for a few seconds.
Q: What's better for speed: Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, Acura Integra, or Mazda Miata MX 5?
There's are a few of the cars that I am considering purchasing in the hopes of modification and racing. Which would you suggest and why exactly?
A: I see the "e$" recommends Big 'Ol 'Merican Iron...that's fine for drag racing but with the cars you list I'd guess you're talking road racing. Sorry...that's outta the Camaro's "best use" range.
I'd say the Miata for Auto-X or road racing, strictly because it's the only RWD in your list. RWD has far superior track handling, and the Miata is known for it's excellent handling capabilities even amongst the RWD cars
You might be able to make the Mitsu and Acura faster in a straight line, but neither can corner like a Miata.
Q: Should I worry about snow and rain damage to my new Mazda MX-5 Miata's ragtop?
I live in Ohio, we don't have a garage. Do I need to buy the optional hardtop?
A: As a longtime owner of M.G.s and Alfa Romeos, the classic answer about soft tops is that they last between five and seven years if you take good care of them, but only about six years if you don't. :-) Seriously -- soft tops are replaceable items and need to be mentally filed as such. Depending on how you drive, the top may last longer than your tires, but it's definitely a consumable item.
The main advantage to the optional hardtop in Ohio is that it will be warmer during the winter. There's not much insulation in the fabric, and whatever warmth the heater pumps out will get sucked out through the soft top.
The other concern, if you park outside all the time, is whether you'd rather have your top slit or your window broken if somebody decides they really like your stereo, or the lunchbox you left on your seat, or whatever. I never lock the Alfa, but I never leave it parked with anything in it.
Q: Where to buy a hard top for Mazda MX-5?
I want to get a hard top (hardtop) for my MX-5 (model 2.5, Nov 2003, colour "radiant ebony"). What are the best places to buy?
A: Try E-bay.
You can't be picky over the color this route.
Also you should be able to get one from the dealer.
Just have the body shop spray it to match.
Q: Are factory rims, specifically for the 2002 mazda protege 5, protected under any warranties?
A: Not for anything I can think of. Cosmetic damage is usually due to wrong cleaners, any other visible damage is usually scraping curbs or other impact. No matter what it would have to fall under the 3/36 general warranty which is done past.
Q: i have a 1992 Ford F-150 with the Mazda 5 speed manual transmission. What kind of fluid should i fill it up w/
I didnt know if it take 90 weight or something else???
A: ATF fluid don't use gear oil it is too heavy.
Q: how hard is it to swap a 5 speed manual into a mazda mx3 with auto trans?
early 90's mx3-4 cylinder engine-auto trans-how hard is it to swap in a 5 speed?
A: well there's a lot you have to change including adding a clutch pedal, gear shifter, and the manual transmission..i'd say it'd be a bit tough to do but not impossible
Q: How Long does it take to fix a water pump on a 1998 Mazda Millenia 2.5 engine?
A: is not the time, is all the stuff you have to do to reach the water pump
you have to set the engine timming again because you have to take out the belt to reach the water pump
4 hours are too much but an average mechanic can reach 4hr
i can do the job in less than 3 hours
Q: How can I get a 94 Ford Probe 2.0 liter (Mazda) 5 spd. to stop ticking? It sounds like it's going to blow up!
Local area machine shop hottie here. Motor has 228,000 and ticked since 68,000 'bout 10 years ago. It's *really* bad now. I use 5W30 only, mostly high mi. formula. Put an oil additive (slick 50 ot the like) every 30-50,000. Tried the stop lifter tap crap (which doesn't work on anything I don't think! lol) All routine maintenance dun (oil, all tune up, incl. timing belts (3), clutch, etc.) since first bringin Ugly Betty home. Yes, she was Betty before the tele came along and she has just got uglier and uglier. She's still sweet with her walker exhaust and cold air induction. Always run 89 octane. I wanna run her till she poops and even then I plan on a rebuild (luv this motor - most bang for the buck in a go kart!) I know off the subject. PLEASE help me not be so embarrassed to drive my baby! What can I do to quiet collapsed lifter(s)?!?! btw - anyone know if fuel injectors go bad frequently on Mazda motors (yes, I know Betty is a Mazda, only reason I bought her!) Appreciate all answers
A: Although you may need a value job or I'll head rebuild, here is something to try.
Your engine, head, valves, pistons, etc are probably heavily carboned-up or varnished. Cleaning this crap out of the motor may make a big difference.
Go to a local Chrysler dealership and pick up a couple cans of Mopar Combustion Chamber Conditioner. It's dirt cheap and will really clean up carbon & varnish deposits.
Just follow the instructions on the label. Get a friend to help you with this. It can be difficult to keep the engine running while using the MCCC.
You spray it into the throttle body directly, while the engine is running. This will create A LOT of smoke so do it outdoors. Once the can is empty let the engine stop. Let it sit overnight. The next day start the car and repeatedly rev it for a couple minutes and then take it for a long highway drive. Rev the engine hard every now and then while driving.
You can repeat this a week or so later for a second cleaning.
This will really clean up the engine and may reduce some of the ticking if carbon or varnish deposits are part of the cause.
Q: Does the Mazda 121 hatchbach 121 gsi 5 door R reg come with Alloys and spoiler as standard?
I need to insure my car but don't know if the spoiler and Alloys are standard or would have been changed. This will add to my insurance and void it if wrong.
Does anyone know?
A: No, but they were a factory option;

They shouldn't make a difference to your insurance.
Q: How dose the Mazda 5 automatic, and the honda civic sedan automatic perform, fully loaded and on hilly roads.?
A: Cant tell you about the civic (although I understand they handle quite well) but I own a Mazda 3s and the thing handles beautifully. Best car I ever owned, and Ive had lots. I cant say a bad thing about this car. Be sure to get the sports package with the 2.3 liter engine though...much quicker and much more fun to drive. Also cant go wrong with the Mazda dependibility wise either. They'll last forever. Ive also got a 16 yr. old 626 with 170k miles and it still runs awesome! Happy driving!
Q: Dealer cost of Mazda 5?
My buddy is offering me his Ford discount to buy a Mazda 5. What is the cost of a Mazda 5? I hear you can get the same deal just by pushing the dealer.
Do you think I should wait for the auto industry to tank and than buy a car?
A: Employee deals aren't that great.
My advice- get a one-year or two-year lease return. People treat leased cars better than the normal consumer- and someone else took the HUGE depreciation hit.
Q: Does anyone know how to get a diecast model of the 2006 Mazda 5?
