A: no the mazda the 3 engine is not made by ford, it is made by mazda, but ford uses the 2.0 and 2.3(not anymore) on the american focus.
the ford focus shares the same platform as the mazda 3 and volvo c30. and mazda actually shares the most common engine in the ford line up, eve the escape uses the 2.3 liter 4 banger

A: The simple answer to your question is yes. You can get a mazda 3 at invoice.
Edmonds.com suggests to offer a dealer 5% over invoice, but most dealers will sell one for $100 - $200 profit.

I have an 2007 Mazda 3 and i want to remove the stock muffler tip it came with, i want to install a new one in i just don't know if it's welded in or if its just like clamped in.... anyone ave a mazda that took the stock one off

A: OEM exhaust systems are all one piece from the catalytic converter back. If it has clamps it has been replaced. Climb under it and look for yourself.
Q: Is the Mazda 3 engine the same as in the BMW 3 series?
My girlfriend claims the Mazda 3 engine and the BMW 3 engine are the same, I don't believe her, as I know Mazda is owned (partially owned?) by Ford, and to my knowledge, neither has anything to do with BMW, but she is absolutely adamant that the Mazda 3 engine is made by BMW
A: They are nothing alike. The Mazda 3 engine is developed by ford it comes in several version starting from a 1.3 liters to a 2.3. I have a 2007 BMW 3 series and it comes standard with a 3.0 (In Europe it comes with a 2.0 but not in the US) liters engine, something that Mazda 3 does not even offer.

Q: Why would my car beat a Mazda 3 twice?
lets get one thing straight I don't race my car this is the first and last time that I have ever raced my car. My car is an old 92' two door lumina with a 3.1L v6 and 3 speed auto and the other car was a mazda 3 four door with a 2.3L and four speed.
My car wheghs 3,120 pounds it has 140hp and 185 ft pounds of torque. the mazda has 156 hp and 150ft pounds of torque but it weghs 2959 pounds. could it be because my car has more torque. my car has 124,600 miles the mazda looked like it was a 05 or 06 model. We raced twice and he neutral droped his car bolth times while I just floored it off the line. He beat me from a dead stop every time but I would just past him after about 40 MPH than I would beat him buy about two car lenths. What could make my car faster?
A: It could be that the driver of the mazda just couldn't cut it and your a better driver. Also you said that the mazda was a 4spd? then it was an automatic, so why was he doing a neutral drop? thats a good way to screw up your mounts and break some stuff. I'm very familiar with your Model of car and i'll tell you that they aren't meant for speed. To me it sounds like the driver of the mazda didn't know how/what to do and you beat him/her. By the numbers since he/she is lighter he/she would logicly win, but sometimes logic has a funny way of biting people in the butt.
Q: Is it a bad idea to buy the none turbo mazda 3 and then add a turbo?
The Mazda guy said the transmission and engine block/cylinder sleeves on the speed 3 was all built stronger and more durable to handle the torque/power of a turbo.
Is it cost effective?
A: Not a bad idea but an expensive one. You just don't add a turbo. There are other things to consider here. Stronger crank and bearings,stronger valve springs, new wiring harness, new computer, new exhaust plumbing lines for the turbo oiling system, different routing system for the serpentine belt and accessories just to mention a few.

Q: Anyone own a Mazda 3 hatchback? How do you like it?
I need a new car... am considering a Mazda 3 S Grand Touring 5 door - maunual transmission, of course - with a few extras, namely the sunroof package and the navigation system. I need a small, fuel effecient car with great gas mileage (and a trunk space capable of holding the 13' little giant ladder) that isn't a snore to drive. All of my research says a Mazda 3 is the way to go, but I'd like to hear from actual owners about the cars' handling and performance.
I currently drive a race modified '96 VW Jetta III... it won't take a Mustang in a straight line, but I can corner at speed with perfect drift. :) And, yes, I do know that there are much more fuel efffecient cars out there, but the journey is just as important as the destination... no Kias or any other A-B cars allowed. As in, a car that is completely boring to drive but will get you from point A to point B just fine.

A: Hey, hipcat! I saw your answer in the VW category and it led me here. Like you, I LOVE to drive, and I'll be 40 next week! I'm currently on my 3rd VW Golf 5-speed, all of which were purchased new and driven beyond 150,000 miles on the original clutch. My 2000 model just passed that milestone, and since I drive about 600 miles per week, I'm considering replacing it and have also been looking at Mazda.
Where we differ is that I'm looking to go bigger because I have a 15 year old son who's on the basketball team, so I need room for him and his friends. So I'm waiting for the Mazda CX-7 to come out so I can test drive it. I took a trip to the New York Auto Show just to see it in person, and while I was there, I saw the new VW RABBIT! It's better looking than the Jetta and GTI, because they did the grille differently. It will be available this summer - so if you're looking for a hatchback, I highly recommend it.

I went through the car wash yesterday, and there was a Mazda 6 in front of me and an RX-8 behind me, so I asked each of those drivers how they liked them, and both emphatically said they love the car and it's fun to drive. Unfortunately, neither of them drives as many miles as we do, so I couldn't get insight on distance driving and maintenance issues.

i have a mazda 3 2007 and the guy at best buy tells me that the size is 6x8 but they were oval shaped and mine in the car are circle shaped and diameter is 6 1/2.

speed- definitely mazda
resale value (if you want to sell later) -definitely honda
fuel savings- definietly honda
prcie-mazda models are cheaper
status symbol (great for impression,reputation...etc)-both, but people are slightly more impressed seeing and in regarding honda cars and owners

I am considering this vs. the Honda Civic Si.
I see that the 3 has more horsepower and torque, but the test results to the Si are very comparable.
Not sure I can see the reason for the price difference (the mazdaspeed is much more expensive).
Why did you choose the Mazdaspeed 3 over the Civic Si?
A: I am a Mazdaphile. Love the brand. Consider this. Assume both are even and see where you can get the best deal. I have had many cars and trucks in my life. I have had a Lexus 430, BMW 318i, Olds Aurora just to name a few. I have enjoyed my Mazda better than all of those cars. When you can drive a car closer to the edge day in day out, it is a joy. In the States, I could not stretch the legs of the much larger cars with big engines, not enough room and the gas mileage would suffer. A compact car gives you the best of both worlds because the technology has now made possible for a MazdaSpeed3 to embarrass any of the aforementioned brands on any day. Your gas mileage will be great compared to a bigger motor with half the outlay of cash. They wouldn't know what hit them until they see your tail lights get smaller in the distance.
Q: Which car is better for a young guy: Dodge Charger, Camry Solara, or Mazda 3?
I'm a young professional that is looking for a good car. I like the look of the Charger, but I'm concerned about driving in the winter and gas mileage isn't great, either. I'm also concerned that the Solara and Mazda 3 could be considered "girly" cars. What would you recommend? Any other suggestions for a guy looking for a relatively inexpensive, yet cool, car are welcome.
