Q: How much should I ask for a 2002 Lexus 300 RX to be lowered?
The asking price is 16,490..it has 77,000 miles on it. No wrecks. No damages. Navigation sytem..the works. Any ideas?

A: Has it had the 60k maintenance done yet? I would think in this economy and the RX not being exactly a fuel efficient or economy car that $16K is still pretty high. I'd say $14k or lower. Whatever is on Edmunds or KBB right now, it's not indicative of true market conditions, so it can't be taken as bible.

Q: does the lexus is 300 come in sunset orange?
i'm having a problem finding the lexus i want in a particular color. i'm not sure if i have the name of the color correct. i was told it's sunset orange, but some may refer to the color as copper. does anyone have the answer to this question? thank you.

A: I love the burnt orange on a Lexus. The Mazda 6 has a sharp shade of the color as well. That color on any Lexus is rare. Most are special ordered cars and were not normal new cars to be parked on a dealers lot. Saying that you really have to sniff deep and hard all over the USA to find one. Here is one on AutoTrader: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?rdpage=thumb&car_id=198603711&dealer_id=1359577&car_year=2001&mod_bookmark_id=null&search_type=both&num_records=&make=LEXUS&transmission=&distance=0&model=IS300&address=45150&make2=sel_one&certified=&advanced=y&max_mileage=&max_price=&bkms=1150844965465&min_price=&end_year=2007&color=BROWN&start_year=1981&color3=RED&drive=&color2=ORANGE&isp=y&engine=&doors=&fuel=&lang=en&cardist=717

Q: The steering wheel locked up on a Lexus RX 300. How do I unlock it?
The steering wheel will not allow me to turn the key. My sister was messing with the back window buttons and the key control buttons. Now it has locked up! It is a 2000 model, if that matters.

A: Check the owners manual

Q: can a 2008 honda civic si beat a 2000 lexus es 300 in a race?
my friend thinks she can beat me in this race, she is in the lexus, but im pretty sure she will lose. thoughts? we are not street racing were doing this at the track quarter mile. lauching at 4k. and powershifting to try to win

A: The Civic - if driven by someone who know what they're doing and knows how to launch it properly is not afraid to run it to redline - will win easily. If the drivers aren't particularly skilled, the Lexus might win due to the no brain automatic.

Q: I have 2003 lexus 300 RPM gets low when I start car?
I changed battery 2 weeks ago and I make sure turn off radio and aircond.. But still on & off hard to start car due to low RPM Why it happen?

A: you need to clean or replace the idle speed control. cleaning will probably work, they get carboned up and stick under certain circumstances only on cold starts as for as I have ever seen.

Q: Why are some Lexus RX 300 vehicles made in Japan while others are made in Canada?
I thought they were all made in Japan by Toyota Motor Corp....thank you!

A: Because its a Toyota Motor CORPORATION!!!!!! Which mean around the world there are Toyota Motor Companies all over the world like there is here in America

Q: Is the Lexus IS 300 a good car?
I have test driven the new IS 350, but not the old model IS 300. I'm wondering if it is a good car, because if I buy one, I will stick a Supra motor in it.

A: The is 300 is a good car as it is, why would you even want to put a supra motor in it, doesnt that just defeat the purpose? I currently work in Lexus parts, The parts pricing can be really really expensive,,,, like a headlight could be min of $800 - $6000, I would recommend checking parts prices before buying one.

Q: How Reliable is the lexus IS 300?
i was thinking about getting one used, 2001, however it has 167,000 miles on it. but it is much lower in price and i was wondering if anyone out there knows wether or not this car will be reliable at this high number of miles? i have heard that lexus, since made by toyota is one of the most reliable auto manufacturers.

A: Lexus has been in the top 5 most reliable cars in America for the last 10 years. In my experience, 167k miles on a Lexus is just the beginning. I've seen an LS 400 with over 500k miles on it and still runs like a dream. It really depends on you, whether you want to buy a car with that many miles or not. But like I said, 167k is nothing for them. In fact, I just drove a 1995 Lexus LS 400 the other day. That car is 13 years old and you would not believe how nice that car was. The interior was quiet. The leather seats were in impeccable condition, the engine was so well insulated that no dirt or debris had piled on it over the years, the engine was powerful, and the transmission shifted smoothly. I was astounded at how well that car had held up after 13 years. It ran better than a brand new Toyota Avalon. Yeah, if it was me, I would go for it.

Q: I'm having car issues with my steering/suspension. I have a lexus IS 300 and it shakes when I go over 40 mph.
Also when the right front area makes a popping noise when pressure is placed on it. I don think its the CV joint because it usually doesn't pop when I"m turning. Any ideas? I've recently had the brake calipers and wheel bearings replaced, and purchased four brand new tires. Thanks!

A: Take it to Lexus they will be glad to see you................UJN

Q: How do you replace the brake light in an IS 300 2003 Lexus?
I cannot figure out how to get to the back of the bulb housing.

A: Take it into you local Lexus dealer.

Q: What type of motor oil does a 96 Lexus 300 series use?

A: the weight is 5w-20

Q: How do you change the oxygen sensor in a 2000 Lexus RX-300?

A: if you know for sure which one it is ,you can use a little wd-40 on it to help soak the rust away if there is any,and then use a wrench or a special socket to get the old one off,and to install the new one with, usually you can get to these pretty good with a wrench,on the old one you don't have to worry too much about breaking the top off it ,but on the new one be extremely careful,if you break it the parts store wont take it back, then your stuck with it,sometimes its better to let a shop do this, the have the needed tools to work with, and their also responsible for it,if they break it then they pay for it,if you break it,then you,ll have to by another one, good luck at ever which way you decide to go with it.
