I hav a 2007 audi a4 2.0T and Im looking at buying a new lexus is 250 awd. I'm looking for reliability, good mpg, good in snow and appearance.

Q: Lexus IS 250 AWD tire blow out question?
My friend has a Lexus IS 250 AWD and she blew a tire. The car only has 20k miles on it. Does she need to buy all 4 new tires or can she just buy the one. I would say just buy the one tire, but I have never owned an AWD vehicle.
A: She can just buy one tire, but her other tires are probably pretty worn since it has 20K miles on it. The Lexus IS tires are high performance tires and are only supposed to last about 15K miles. May want to change all if they are the originals.
The front and rear tires are also different sizes.
Q: How do you change the battery in a Lexus IS 250 key FOB?
I just got the low battery warning. How do I change the battery? Also... what does FOB stand for????
A: Remove the key from the fob. You will see a little slit for the tip of the metal key to slip in.. it's only 3mm deep or so. Twist the metal key and you should hear the fob pop. Once it's popped, you can separate the pieces and remove the battery.
You can also use a quarter or a nickel. Even a screwdriver works. Once you remove the key from the fob, you'll see what i mean.
Q: Would you buy a BMW 325i or a Lexus IS 250?
I'm looking to purchase a new car in the next couple of months, something sporty/sedan. Took the test drive and the prices are about the same here in Hawaii (every thing is expensive in Hawaii).
BMW has the 4 year maintenance free Lexus had 7-year upgrade for $1900 package. If you don't use it, they give you the cash back. How is the BMW's maintenance cost? and how reliable is the car?
A: Definitly the BMW. First of all the 325i has been a proven driving machine which out handles any lexus. Everyone i ever knew who owned a 325 had tons of milage on that car and if taken care of with your free maintenance, you cant beat it. Its the Ultimate driving Machine. Anyone who does not like BMWs do not know what technology, engineering and handling have been designed into any of their vehicles. For the price its a fantastic choice. Buy it and Have fun!
Q: Estimated Price Insurance On Lexus IS 250?
I am a 23 year old female living in California. I've been driving since 18 years old with a clean driving record. I plan on getting the 2007 or 2008 Lexus IS 250 sometime this year. Any ideas on how much the insurance would be for me?

A: Impossible to figure out a close estimate without knowing credit history, coverage options, location, safety and security equipment to name a few items. Get some quotes online and play around with different coverage options. Insurance companies don't charge for quotes and shopping ahead of time will save you some big money in the end. Your age may hurt, but the car should be pretty good on insurance cost.
Q: Can you add factory HID headlamps to a 2006 Lexus IS 250?
Currently the car does not have HID headlamps and I was wondering if the Factory HID headlamps could be installed.
A: no (my husband works at lexus)....you need to get a HID kit and if you try to hook the bulbs up to the regular light socket then you will catch them on fire

A: Actually the new Lexus system is not that bad. Not as good as Subaru or Audi but not bad. At least it's a symmetrical system like the Subaru and that makes a big difference.
Q: Should you ever accept a car dealer's first offer on a new car lease (Lexus IS 250 AWD) ?
Car in question is a Lexus IS 250 AWD. Based on my good credit and the options on the car, they offered a 36 month lease, at 12k miles a year. $2500 down and $499 a month. MSRP is 34,875. I said I would think about it and gave them the 2500 down at no risk and they said they would hold it for 24 hours. After some research I think it is overpriced. I tell them so and the dealer goes and talks to his sales manager for like 5-10 minutes, come back and says they can't budge. I ask for 475, we negotiate, he goes back again, same thing. This happens a third time, and finally the sales manager comes in and says they really can't budge on the 499. I say boo and leave. They say they'll keep it reserved until the morning.
I don't believe them, I think they can budge. Since I don't think it's a coincidence that 499 is exactly 1 dollar less than 500. I think they're trying to give me a hard sell. After all, what the heck else are they talking about in the other room for all that time?
A: car dealers are among the worst trusted people when polls are taken about occupations. doctors, firefighters, policemen, etc usually rank pretty high. attorneys, home repair people, and car dealers are usually near the bottom. i think they are trying to put the screw to you.
a friend of mine was buying a BMW. he negotiated a price with a local dealer, and applied for BMW financing. he wasn't approved, but the dealer said they would finance him for something like 2% more in interest a month. he said no.
he went to another BMW dealer, got the same car at a lower price, and was granted BMW finincing at the original rate from the first place.
Q: Can you get a brand new Lexus IS 250 (AT) out the door including tax & licience out the door under 30K?

A: I have a 2007 IS 250 and I am completely in love with my car. The inside is very plush and the overall feel is of QUALITY. Lexus is high end and they live up to it in this car. The engine is buttery smooth and silent and has plenty of power. The paddle shift is cool on the freeways and hills and the looks I get in the car are great too. Unlike the Euro counterparts, which are also nice inside and fun to drive, the Lexus will stay running and cost you much less in repair cost and agitation. I have had Audi and BMW in the past and I can safely say that I will probably never drive anything other than Lexus from now on.
Q: Touch up paint over a scratch (08 Lexus IS 250)?
I brushed touch up paint over a deep scratch on passenger door. Touch up paint color was the same as the car's color, but that affected is very noticeable. Any suggestions on how I should deal with this matter would be appreciated. Should I take it to a professional paint job place or to the dealer??
A: . If you Didn't get the paint from the dealer, it'll always be a shade off.
For $20 or so, you get a little bottle of the Xact paint.
Q: Is a 1999 Lexus IS 250 a good car for my 18 year old (girl?)?
My daughter has her eye on a 1999 brown IS 250 with a sports kit (lip spoiler, skirts and mesh gril). 4 speed auto, no major accidents, 1 fender bender, 37,5 K miles. Worth how much? Thanks!

A: IS250 came out in 2006. I am not sure how it can be a 1999 model. There are no 4 speed auto's for ANY of the IS models.
2001-2005 IS300 = 5-Speed Auto
2002-2005 IS300 = 5-Speed Manual
2006-2009 IS250(AWD/RWD)/350 = 6-Speed Auto
2006-2009 IS250(RWD) = 6-Speed Manual
Where did your daughter find this car? If the information you posted is the same as the seller of the car has posted, i would be wary of their "false advertising".
If it is an 01-05 IS300, it is a very safe car overall. The insurance will be a bit pricey, and the car itself is a gas guzzler for what it is. 22mpg on fwy driving.
Q: Vehicle Stability Control Lexus IS 250?
I have a lexus is 250 (2006) and VSC (vehicle stability control) came on once and it felt like the car was going to shut down. it also shakes once in a while when I come to a hault or stop. I went to lexus and they said they couldnt find anything wrong with it.. any ideas?
A: When the VSC light comes on, it means this feature is activated. Which means it's working to keep the car stable in whatever driving conditions you are in.
If the car doesn't feel right, by all means take it to the dealer. Great choice, that is a awesome car.
Q: Lexus IS 250 vs 350 vs Audi A4 vs Infiniti G35?
Hey, im looking to get my first car but i cant decide on what to get. I am a beginner driver and i REALLY like the lexus but the 250 only has 204 hp (and being in college, i wanna impress my friends with a powerful car). The 350 has much better HP but its only RWD and my friend said that as a new driver, i would kill myself if i were to drive it.
The other two cars, i have not read much about yet but people ahve recommended it to me.
Has anyone tested the IS 250? How do you think it performs? speed, acceleration wise. Not to sound offensive but im a male in college and a car that is powerful enough for a soccar mom, i might want something more powerful.
Also, do you think a begginner driver can handle a RWD car with 304 hp?
Note: When I ask, what you think of the IS 250, i mean, Do you think it is too weak? Does it accelerate too slowly? Etc.
A: if its your FIRST car..i wouldn't get anything high end..the cost to fix these cars are bank! but im a current owner of a is250..and i drove the previous model..the is300..my current car is250 is very nice it seems to pull like the is300. if you wanna impress your friends the is350 anit bad, rwd anit all that bad and plus its manual. the is350 only comes in auto.
other cars to keep in mind EVO9 and STI ;] BOTH AWDs. both having GREAT power and acellertion..it would probaly beat on all the other cars you listed.
