Q: How do I start a new honda car dealership? or other make new car dealership?
I want to start a new honda or toyota car dealership. I cannot find information on their website or on the internet for starting my own. Can anyone supply me with some info?

A: i believe u have to go to school for a business or entrepreneur degree. then go to a honda dealership and talk to them about it and become part of the chain.

Q: What are the recommendations for getting a Honda's transmission flushed or changed?
I have had no problems with the transmission, I just like to keep up on regular maintenance. The Honda is a 1997 with 130K miles. I've heard that flushing the transmission fluid can cause more problems than just leaving it alone.

A: Do not flush a Honda transmission. simply drain and refill. According to the owner's manual [page 164] for a 1997 Accord, the automatic transmission should be drained and refilled at 90,000 miles. Less than half or the fluid actually comes out when you drain it so you need to do 3 or 4 consecutive drain and refills to get most of the old fluid out with a short drive between each one. This is shy some owner's and dealers simply recommend a drain and refill every 30,000 miles.

Q: Can I buy an extended warranty from a different Honda dealer than the one who sold the car?
Has anyone ever bought an extended warranty online for a Honda? I bought a CRV on Friday. The dealer wants about $1400 to $1600 for an extended warranty, depending on the number of years and mileage I want. (I know that Hondas really hold up, and Consumer Report says te extended warranties are not worthwhile, but we keep our cars forever, so I think it makes sense for us.) However, an Internet search shows some other dealers with *much* lower prices on the extended warranty, one outside of Cleveland, and one in Florida. We live in Maryland. Can I buy one of these on line and use it where we live? I am only interested in a warranty that would be offered by Honda itself.

A: Positively, it's only an insurance policy.

Q: how hard is it to put a honda engine in a yamaha dirtbike?
i have an older 250 2-stroke honda engine and ive found an 80's yz125 dirtbike with a bad engine, so what i was wondering is how hard would it be to put the engine in that bike and what modifications, parts, ect. i will need to do the engine/frame to swap the honda engine into the yamaha frame... anything you can tell me will be a big help, thanx in adv.

A: Ok look, I hate to bust your bubble but if your asking it is a job that is over your head. The above people are right, it can be done but it takes alot of work, tools, you need to be a good wrench spinner and welder, and it has to be done right.

Q: Does honda have fully synthetic oils? How much for an oil change?
I drive a lot (3000 miles/month) and i want to save time changing the oil for my civic lx. i always take it to honda for a change of oil and filter, but would you think Honda has a fully synthetic one like Mobil 1? And how much do you think it would cost me? thanks!

A: here's what you do. if you have an oil change place do the work, specify 4 qts. 10W30 VALVOLINE FULL SYNTHETIC, SEMI SYNTHETIC, or even standard motor oil, 1 qt. DURALUBE (an oil additive which coats all your moving parts in your engine, keeps the oil from breaking down and heating up, and extends the original mfg warrenty an extra 100,000 miles) VERY GOOD STUFF FOR YOUR ENGINE AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT, 1- BOSCH premium oil filter. bosch is, by far, the best filter. once you start using valvoline oil in your engine, stick with valvoline. it's not recommended that you keep switching brands of oils for the same engine. and also, the duralube is to be used every 4 oil changes. this engine will last a lifetime if you do this, and keep up the maintenance of your car. i do need to warn you that this is not a cheap oil change, but isn't your engine worth it? if you purchase the parts yourself, and using the standard valvoline oil (which, btw is ok when using the duralube) its going to be about $3.35/ qt. bosch filter about $6.00 and 1 qt duralube about $20.00/ qt

Q: What company does Honda check credit scores through?
Was wondering if any Honda sales reps were out there and could tell me if Honda checks all 3 scores or only checks one of them. (Experian, Equifax, and/or Transunion). Or is it dependant upon the actual local dealer and not the overall Honda company?

A: I Have a Honda they check all three score but go off transunion. I live in Chicago IL

Q: How to go with minor body work for a new Honda?
I own a 06 Honda Accord and was hit by fellow passenger in the parking lot. There was a minor paint damage at the rear bumper. Fellow passenger mentioned that he would pay what ever the amount it takes. I already inquired in Honda showroom and got a quote for minor body work. Is the body work from Honda showroom reliable. Any pointers on how to go about this without affecting car history, carfax, insurance etc? The bad thing is that this is not even my fault Thanks for your time

A: I would take it to a reputable body shop. Doesn't have to be a Honda showroom. Since your friend is offering to pay the damages. It shouldn't affect your insurance or any of the other concerns that you are having.

Q: How do I get my front end lower on my honda?
I just installed a set of Eibach lowering springs on my 2005 honda civic lx sedan. The springs were supposed to lower the front 1" and the rear 1.1", however, the rear is at a perfect height but a lot lower the front. The front set of springs did go down a little bit but not as much as they were supposed to and now the front is higher then the rear. Can you tell me why this has oocured and how I can adjust the front more for that perfect fit?

A: buy new springs. or if you want to ruin your springs. you could cut them or take a oxy-acdiline torch to heat them.

Q: Shall I buy a tractor or a Honda Rancher Quad?
We just bought some landand will need a vehicle to help with common chores - as well as develop the land. I was planning on getting the Honda Rancher with attachments, but maybe a tractor is a better purchase... Of course the Honda would be a blast when the work gloves come off. Any input is greatly appreciated! Oops.. we have 10 acres of treed land with a meadow. We have one horse and will acquire 3 more. We plan to build a house and barn this spring.

A: I would say go with the tractor. Their built to handle the needs better. Sure you can get different attachments for the ATV but it's not going to do the job as effectively as a tractor. ATV's don't have PTO's, hydraulics and the gear ratio's of a tractor. You don't mention what your chores are going to be. But if your looking at plowing, tilling, loading, etc the tractor is the way to go. If your planning on just hauling a trailer around or blasting around your property the Rancher would work good for you. One thing I wish I had for my property is a little skid steer loader. You might want to take a look at them to see if they would work better for you too.

Q: I bought a key start honda lawnmower and it only has one key is it ment to have two?

A: i dont know but it will only cost a couple of quid to get another cut at any key place

Q: What modern sized motorcycle tire can I install on my 1966 Honda?
I have a 1966 Honda Dream and according to the manual it takes 3.25 X 16 tires. These are an old size style and they are not relevant to modern tire equivalents. What would be the closest tire size equivalent that I can mount on my wheels? Do you have any brand and model recommendations? I have gotten vintage size/style tires from Coker but am not satisfied with the quality.

A: 3.25X16 is the same (or as close as is now available) as a MH90 16 or a MJ90 16 (3.25 falls between) also the same as a 80/90 or 90/90 (again 3.25 falls between) Also Coker Tyre sells tyres in inch sizes but expensive and still built with 60s technology.

Q: What internal problems is the Honda corporation having, business wise?
The Honda corporation is having problems within the business, what are they?

A: If your referring to the decrease in automobile sales its not the corporation; its the market. The Japanese domestic market has been in the tank for the last 3 years; the American market dropped from almost 17 million new cars in 2006 to a forecast of less than 16 million in 2008. Honda's year-over-year sales are down but they are maintaining market share in the U.S. Most of the U.S. market problems are due to the "credit crunch"; simply said, most vehicles are financed and most prospective customers can't get financed because of their personal financial positions. The sub-prime mortgage market fiasco also affects the same class of sub-prime car buyers. To make matters worse, most people who are in trouble with their home loans bought a car financed into the loan so as home foreclosures rise so will defaults on car loans and repossessions. Honda is in a much better financial position than most companies and they will weather the storm. Their strength is that most of their cars are produced in North America so they won't get killed by the weak dollar as the Europeans will. hope that answers your question

Q: Among the Yamaha Gladiator and Honda Shine, which one would be better in terms of comfort and mileage?
I'm planning to buy a 125cc bike in the coming 2-4 months n have shortlisted the Honda Shine and Yamaha Gladiator. What I'm trying to assess is the mileage, ride comfort n after sales services which can help me in choosing between the 2 bikes.

A: The Shine has better fuel economy no doubt, but overall, the Gladiator wins. It is far more comfortable than the Shine. Although it has less fuel economy (50kmpl in city, as compared to 55 for the shine), it doesnt make much of a difference (a few hundred rupees per month). Gladiator looks better too and price wise is it actually a little cheaper than the Shine to buy. Why dont you have a look at the new TVS FLAME 125? Looks awesome - http://tvsflame.blogspot.com If fuel efficiency is the most important thing, then shall i recommend the new Bajaj XCD? - http://bajajxcd.blogspot.com

Q: Is it safe to travel from Bangalore to Mysore in a Honda Aviator?
I am planning to travel from Bangalore to Mysore ALONE in my Honda Aviator. Some friends have warned me that it may be dangerous to do so in gearless vehicles. Have any of you done so? What precautions did you take?

A: No problem to travel. It is 4 lane highway. Roads are good. Try to maintain average 60 Kmph speed. Driving during day time advisable.
